ALLAH is Al-Wadood, The One who loves, The One who is the source of all love and loving-kindness, The One who is most affectionate, The One who is deserving of all love and affection and is The One who is the goal of the highest love.

The root word waw-dal-dal has many classical Arabic connotations such as to love, to be affectionate, and to long for, to desire, to wish for.
