Explanation
ALLAH is Al-Mujeeb, The One who answers prayers, The One who responds to needs, The One who penetrates through every obstacle in order to respond, The One who responds to an invitation, The One who responds to requests, prayers, and praise by means of gifts and acceptance.
The root word meem-jeen-ba has numerous classical Arabic connotations such as to answer, reply, respond, accept, to cut, pierce, penetrate, to have a dialog or conference, and to comply with a desire when invited to do so.
Mankind’s share of this name, to respond when we are called upon, is described in the Qur’ān:-
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:186): “When my servants ask thee concerning Me I am indeed close (to them); I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me; let them also with a will listen to My call and believe in Me; that they may walk in the right way.”
