Explanation

It is derived from the Arabic word “Adl”, which means justice or fairness. The name “Al-‘Adl” signifies that ALLAH is the ultimate source of justice and equity and that He is always just in all His actions and decisions.

In Islamic theology, justice is considered one of the foundational principles of the faith. The concept of justice is not just limited to social justice or legal justice but also encompasses spiritual justice and balance. ALLAH is considered to be the ultimate judge, who is fair and just in all His dealings with His creation.

As the name “Al-‘Adl” suggests, ALLAH is always fair and just, and He never shows favoritism or bias towards anyone. He treats all His creations with equality and justice, regardless of their race, gender, or social status. This attribute of ALLAH is a source of comfort and hope for believers, who trust in His ultimate justice and wisdom.

But the word al-‘adl (justice) is mentioned in the Qur’an as a description of the words of ALLAH.

Thus, Al-Hakam Al-‘Adl is ALLAH Who judges between His slaves in this world and in the Hereafter by His justice and fairness.
